After five months of training, L’vovo Derrango has finally become a traditional healer.
The musician became the latest celebrity to heed the call of the ancestors and was honoured in a ceremony this past weekend in KwaZulu-Natal.
L’vovo took to Instagram after the ceremony to share videos and pictures from his big day.
Just two weeks ago, L’vovo confirmed to TshisaLIVE that he was set to undergo a traditional ceremony, but would not reveal whether it was to become a traditional healer.
“I’m not talking about what the ceremony is for or what will be happening. You will have to wait and see. I have invited people and they will come and see what it is about. But that will be the first and the last time that I speak about it,” he said at the time.
Speaking to Sunday Sun, Lvovo’s trainer said that the star had attended training because “he knew there were certain things which need attention” but said that the artist would not give up his career for one as a traditional healer.
“He’s still going to be the singer that he is. Nothing in his craft will change – but things will be different in his personal space,” trainer Zanele Zuke said.
